and collapse analysis The following Action Groups were
active throughout 2004: SM(AG27) Fractographic
aspects of fatigue failure in complex composite laminates and structures SM(AG28) Impact
damage and repair of composite structures The following Action Group was
initiated in 2004: SM(AG29) Interchangeability of composite materials Exploratory Groups (EG) One Exploratory Group was cancelled
in 2004: SM(EG27) Thermal modelling
of the friction stir welding process Two new Exploratory Groups have
been established in 2004: SM(EG28) Material
properties during curing SM(EG29) Bird
strike, phase II Future topics Although no establishment of new EGs is at present planned for 2005,
the GoR will continue to explore potential themes for possible new groups. Several interesting and promising
topics were discussed by the GoR members and their potential for possible
GARTEUR collaborative pogrammes has been thoroughly examined. Topics include: ·
Delamination
growth; ·
Smart
actuators; ·
Nano-technolopgy; ·
UAV
certification aspects; ·
High
speed machined parts, structural integrity; ·
Load
monitoring. For these topics presentations have
been given during the GoR meetings. For a number of them a lay-out for a
Exploratory Group is written by one of the GoR members. Other topics remain
on the list as a technology watch subject. |
